The Edelbrock is a four-barrel “Performer Series” carburetor fitted with an electric choke. So I will just say that I’ve always been a fan of the AFB style carb for street cars, especially with mxnual transmission. Thanks, I’m glad you like my review. So here’s the simple fix, toss your tuning chart, and use the Performer tuning chart.
Set your accelerator pump back to the stock middle position. Consult the vehicle’s specifications manual if the speed will be set to the engine’s stock setting. The book that comes with the carb makes it pretty clear. I always like a challenge. I would also install a pressure gauge as well. I have a efelbrock, GT 40 heads, E cam, performer intake and 2.

You most likely will have to change the jets as I did from the stock jets to the jets and metering rods. Both of these cause the engine to have a flat spot or a rich bog. This is a popular carb for the small edelhrock Ford and is the trickiest Performer carb to tune.
After setting the idle a little faster about RPM on the original tach she ran great!! Which got me to thinking, if the is basically the same carb with manual choke, why does this electric choke Performer give everyone including myself a hard time with getting the tune right? Thanks and good luck!

Lower the engine’s idle speed to the desired level by turning the idle speed screw in a counterclockwise direction.
